Variety Food Services is the meal vendor for Summit Academy and Summit Academy North Schools for the 2017-2018 school year.
IMPORTANT
A note to parents/students- We are pre-ordering ALL meals this year. We are doing this to cut down on waste and reduce the cost to our families of the meals at school. What this means is that your child(ren) will be given an envelope with a MONTHLY of menu options on it. You will complete the menu and the order form information and return the envelope with the menu and with the funds due to the school office as soon as possible.
We will NO LONGER offer a provisional lunch for students that do not order their meals. All FREE/REDUCED students MUST also complete the order forms.
If your child is absent on a day they have ordered a meal, they will STILL BE CHARGED for the meal as the vendor will still charge the school for the meal. The only situation where a credit will be given is for prolonged absences because we have an opportunity to correct our lunch order.
If your child(ren) ordered a meal on a day where school is canceled, THE MENU FOR THE NEXT DAY WILL BE THE MISSED DAY’S FOOD. This is done to minimize waste. That day’s menu meal will be dropped. Example: On Monday chicken nuggets are on the menu. School is canceled for snow. On Tuesday, the lunch will be chicken nuggets. What was on the menu for Tuesday will NOT BE served. Wednesday lunch will be what is on the menu.
*****IF YOUR CHILD(REN) RECEIVE FREE/REDUCED PRICED MEALS, PLEASE STILL COMPLETE THE MENU SELECTIONS AND RETURN TO THE OFFICE. FREE MEALS WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY BE ORDERED FOR STUDENTS RECEIVING FREE MEAL BENEFITS. WE STILL NEED A COMPLETED ORDER FORM!!*****
