About Summit Academy Charter School in Flat Rock

Summit Academy Flat Rock is a charter school serving grades K-8, as well as preschool. We employ the “STEAM” approach to education, which focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. This approach is proven to give students a strong, diverse foundation of knowledge that they can build upon for the rest of their academic careers.

Every year we spice up our curriculum with a school-wide, year-long theme. For the 2017-2018 school year, our theme is “Decades.” All classes were assigned a decade from 1920-1970, and students will explore the different elements of STEAM during that era.

In addition to our innovative curriculum, we take pride in our inclusive culture. As a “one-stop shop” before high school, our students are able to develop lasting relationships with their classmates and teachers. Students in “The Pinnacle” (grades 6-8) are even given a chance to visit and mentor younger classrooms.
